Wet’suwet’en Blockades

February 20, 2020

Everyone in Canada has the right to freedom of speech and the freedom to protest – regardless of how much we agree or disagree with their message.

What they do not have the right to do is shut down our railways and ports, block everyday, honest Canadians getting to and from work, and block small businesses and farmers from getting their goods to market.

Today, the House of Commons we will debate the following CPC Opposition Day motion:

“That the House stand in solidarity with every elected band council on the Coastal GasLink route, the majority of hereditary chiefs, and the vast majority of the Wet’suwet’en people, who support the Coastal GasLink project, and condemn the radical activists who are exploiting divisions within the Wet’suwet’en community, holding the Canadian economy hostage, and threatening jobs and opportunities in Indigenous communities.”
